Our Easter Rally, over five days received a setback in the days prior to the rally commencing with the owner of the Caravan Park at Red Bill Point, Beauty Point complaining to the local council at his loss of business by us using the local football grounds. Just a minor set back, that saw our Chapter move 18 kilometers up the highway to Sidmouth - where we have had successful Rally's in the past.
Setting up on the Thursday for the Rally where 59 Motorhome's and Campervan's attended
Thursday evening saw many retire to their Motorhome's to watch AFL football or just gather in the hall by the fire for a game of cards or a good old fashioned chinwag.
On Friday morning, after breakfast, we all hopped in and erected our yellow canopy and set up fires with wood delivered by our hosts for the weekend Bill and Dianne, it didn't take long to get the kettles boiling. Being easter friday we all just relaxed and welcomed new arrivals. It was another fine day though a little overcast.

Saturday dawned and not a breath of wind, though some rain fell during the early hours of the morning. Our host Bill wandered off and arrived back at the Rally with a 64 seater bus which we filled before heading off to the start of the Three Peaks Race at Beauty Point. When we arrived the wharf area was packed with people who were enjoying the Carnival atmosphere and watching the many boats parading past the wharf area and listening to the brass bands and the country and western bands.

There were many food stalls selling many different country's cuisine, enjoyed by the many people crowding the wharf. At two o' clock in the afternoon fourteen contestants crossed the start line in their push to the head of the river and out onto the ocean on their way to complete the Three Peaks Yacht Race when they arrive in Hobart.
What a start, with the breeze picking up and sails set to sail into the wind the mono hulls had a head start over the catamarans, the crowd warmed to the start. When over our members enjoyed the bands and then it was back on the bus and back to the Rally.

Saturday night saw dancing in the hall which had a nice warm fire; given the evening had turned out to be cool, there was also card competitions that were played out with vigor, Our C.M.C.A. Chaplain conducted a Sunday morning service and later in the day we had a disc bowls competition where we challenged the interstate visitors, which we won. In the evening, as many of our visitors would be returning to their respective states, we sang a hearty rendition of "Now is the Hour" and "We'll meet again". Monday saw many leaving the Rally and returning home or to work with our visitors leaving to continue their exploration of our State.
