Rally Updates

What wonderful news! To hear that our golden girls; Trix, Judy, and Glenda took out the Ladies Triples at the National Rally conducted at Barcaldine recently. A job well done girls on behalf of our Chapter.
Arthur and Billie from the Blue Gum Rovers won bronze in the mixed pairs.
To celebrate our win Glenda composed poetry to commemorate the victory, we hear that celebrations lasted well into the night to the sounds of Tassie Oui. Oui. Oui.

Gold Medal Day at Barcy

The disc bowls championship were about to start
When Trix came asking from the heart
Will you Play, so we can make a team
As we are one short, it would seem.

I'd never done disc bowls before
But I said yes, I'll be in that's for sure
So Trix, Judy and I played under the hot sun
And knocked them down one by one

We played right through and into the final
It was gold or silver for us,
As we faced off on that bloody grass

The Blue Gum Rovers cheered us on
Saying come on Tassie Come on, Come on
Arthur and Billie had won the bronze medal
Said get in there you Tassie Devils

We played five ends and guess what the score
It was five all and the crowd started to roar
The skip had the last disc to hold
We said come on Trix we want that gold

There was so little space to place that shot
Trix lived it up and said fear not
She threw that disc with a determined face
And it landed exactly in that place

A roar from the crowd you bloody little beaut
As they marveled at how Trix
Placed that disc on that one grass root

There was excitement in the crowd
As we had done Tassie so proud
We won the gold medal a mighty feat
Us Island Wanderers couldn't be beat.

Hi To You All,
Re: Wongan Hills Western Australia

I have attached an events planner for Wongan Hills WA in the event to entice you or any of your members to drop into Wongan Hills if you happen to be visiting our area in 2008. We have a very friendly Visitor Centre only too willing to help with any enquiries regards our town, our many species of wildflowers and great attractions. If you are into bush walking and wildflowers we have it all, plus much more. We have a wonderful town that can service you comfortably with an excellent Caravan Park. We are Australia's First RV's Friendly Town. I do hope that you can pass on this information to your members and look forward to hopefully some of you visiting Wongan Hills in the future. We also ask to maybe consider a rally in our town. I have highlighted weekends on the calendar that may entice you to consider this. The Western Willie Wagtails held a very successful Solo's rally in Wongan Hills and with a few ideas know that we can only improve to make another event like this bigger and better. If you are requiring any information please let me know.
Many thanks
Sonya
